Pam Taylor - Christian Life Coach

Drudge. Drudge

Have you ever felt like something is missing? Like there ought to be more to life than just getting up, doing your daily tasks, going to bed, getting up, and starting all over again. Drudge. Drudge. Same old, same old stuff. Day, after day, after day. What happened to the spring in your step? Where did it go? WHEN did it go? Isn’t there more to life than THIS???

Isn’t it time you did something that will help you move out of this dullness and toward that “thing” you used to be so excited about? That you’ve just never quite followed through on…for whatever reason…and yet it still kinda haunts you? It just won’t “go away.”

You know what I’m talking about. It’s that idea that is always lurking around in the background of your mind. Remember now??? Do you feel a bit of pounding of your heart as you think about it? About what “could have been”? What sidetracked you?

I got sidetracked by college, marriage, a job, a home, children, and even the mission field. All good things, but I always had that lingering feeling that something was missing…something that “defined” me. Something that made me…ME.

Have you ever felt that way?

I first had a dream like that in 1978. And then it got buried. By “life”.

Then…FINALLY…in 2008…I hired a Christian Life Coach and asked him to teach me how to do what he did. It was a new beginning for me. I am now my own boss. And I can choose my own hours and even better than that is the fact that I now get to breathe life into the dreams of others. Just like my coach did for me! He held that vision for me when it would get a bit weak and seemed far away. He held it for me and he encouraged me until the dream is now a reality and I am now a Christian Life Coach, too. Friends and family encourage, but any decisions we make affect them, too, so they can’t be unbiased. Their OWN desires get in the way.

Why not do what I did…and follow through on YOUR dream until it becomes a reality.

I’d like to make it a bit easier for you to follow through on that dream toward a new beginning. Commit to three months of coaching (October, November, and December), and enjoy the third month FREE.  (That is a $200 gift. Think of it as a Christmas gift from me to you. I’m handing you $200 toward your dream! If you don’t take advantage of it, it’s like you are just throwing away $200! And that would be sad! You see, no matter what we are doing…dieting…exercising…or learning to move forward in any new direction…it usually takes at least three months to begin to get a consistently forward movement toward that dream to the point that it feels comfortable and “normal” to you.

Maybe your dream is to start your own business like me. Maybe it’s to finally finish that education path you started on so many years ago. Maybe it is to figure out how to get past “overwhelm” in your life. Maybe your dream is to live well on less. Maybe it’s to become the wife that your husband always dreamed of, rather than the overwhelmed, weary, grumpy wretch that meets him at the door each evening. Maybe it’s….well, YOU fill in the blank. What is it that will make you feel more whole? More like God intended?

Don’t delay. This “gift” is a time-sensitive offer; so, I look forward to hearing from you soon. October will be here before we know it. Let’s talk together about that thing that has been in the back of your mind for all these months or years. I’d LOVE to hear what has been “dogging” at your heels. Contact me through the website at www.loavesandfishescoaching.com and we can arrange a FREE call.  I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions…even my shoe size. 🙂 Through our conversation together,  you can decide if coaching is right for you. AND we can both determine together if we would be a good match…a good team.

By moving forward beginning in October and November, you’ll then receive the month of December ($200 value) FREE. It will be my gift to you. FREE!

I love helping people with new beginnings. And I love giving gifts. Let me bless you this way so you can begin your journey toward new beginnings, just like I did a few years ago!

You don’t want to wait as long as I did to find your true fulfillment in walking in your strengths!

Especially for Moms

In today’s broken world, women are longing for warm relationships. This study is designed to help us avoid being miserable comforters-like Job’s friends-and, instead, become “God with skin on” to others. Paul told Titus to train women so that they, in turn, could train others. Preparing women before they connect with one another leads to more supportive, grace-giving relationships. Verna equips women to minister to others by first helping us to:

  • Recognize it’s right to take care of ourselves
  • Identify and correct twisted thinking
  • Learn how to draw appropriate boundaries
  • Take steps to resolve conflicts
  • Know how to listen and ask helpful questions
  • Learn to communicate understanding

This dynamic study is offered to Moms as a virtual telebridge class, meeting for 15 weeks over the phone. In addition to the weekly virtual class sessions, there is a book and workbook, a private Facebook Group, and recordings of the classes.

Here are the details:

Mom-2-Mom
15 week virtual telebridge study.
Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m Central Time
August 7 – November 13, 2012

Cost: $47/month.

(There’s an early registration discount:
so…if you are registered by
August 2, it is only $37/month)

Here’s what one participant of the study said:

This is my first virtual book study, and I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but it has been absolutely great. Pam’s wisdom and gentle humor combined with Verna Birkey’s powerful book, “Women Connecting with Women,” are liberating me from self-sabotaging patterns I didn’t even know I had and empowering me with new insights into my relationships with other women. This is a study – the book, workbook, and my notes – that I will go back to for years to come. I would highly recommend doing this study with Pam Taylor at your first opportunity. It is an investment in yourself, your relationships, and God’s Kingdom that will bear fruit for eternity.

There is so much content to this study. Verna Birkey has the ability to educate the participant in an understandable manner and then offer stories to solidify the learning. The exercises in the book are very helpful. I learned a lot of very practical tools that I will be able to implement when the need arises! Thanks Pam!

I love this study. It was meant for women, but it is true for everyone. I would recommend this study for EVERY woman, regardless of age. It will change the way you look at your world.

Nourishing & Equipping Women Coaches

“In today’s broken world, women are longing for warm relationships.”
Coach-2-Coach. Summer study group for Women Coaches.
Begins June 1st (Noon-1:30 CT) for 16 weeks.

Studying: WOMEN CONNECTING WITH WOMEN by Verna Birkey.

Verna’s passion is to “equip women to become loving, caring friends, mentors, encouragers, and supporters to other women the Lord places in their sphere of influence.”

Verna wondered why it is that the world often turns to secular groups for support & comfort? Job labeled his religious friends “miserable comforters”. How can we become more of “Jesus with skin on” to others? Verna’s material reminds us of our ultimate goal which is to link up with other women to learn from each other. To encourage & nourish each other. Together learning truths that set us free. The study seeks to train & equip us to be all we were meant to be. I’ve used this study for 15 years, and have not yet found anything better.

With grace-filled wisdom and gentle humor, Verna relates the truth of life in Christ to our everyday lives.

She equips women to minister to others by first helping us to:
**Recognize it’s right ot take care of ourselves
**Identify and correct twisted thinking
**Learn how to draw appropriate boundaries
**Take steps to resolve conflicts
**Know how to listen and ask helpful questions
**Learn to communicate understanding

The next tele-study begins June 1st (Friday) Noon-1:30 p.m. CT

Secret Sleep Aid

Looking for a good sleep aid?

Frustrating, isn’t it…tossing and turning at night…trying to fall asleep?

I might have an answer for you…if you are willing to try it. No purchase necessary.

I’m about to share my cool discovery with you. If you truly want to improve your ability to fall asleep, you won’t hesitate to try this. But just in case you need an extra incentive…I double-dare you to try my secret.

This secret sleep aid has worked for me about 5 years.

Here’s my story: After years of sleep deprivation, I was desperate for sleep. I had a job that required me to work one day until 9:00 p.m. and then the next day have to leave for work at 6:30 a.m. and work 10 hours and then it was often the 9 p.m. schedule on the following day. Sometimes, it would be two 9 p.m. days in a row. Or two or three early a.m. days in a row, following by the 9 p.m. day. Some weeks we were working 6 days a week. It was hard to get a routine. It was difficult to fall asleep.

We all know it is easier to fall asleep if you have a routine you follow each night.

Since I was not able to have a dependable routine because my work schedule was beyond my control, I needed a solution to help me fall asleep soon after my head hit the pillow, no matter what time it was each night.

I’ve heard your groans as you also sometimes toss and turn at night. And for some of you, it is a regular almost nightly occurence. Maybe it is not from an undependable work schedule. Maybe it is a new baby. Or maybe it is a child that has nightmares. Or any myriad of possibilities that are preventing your falling asleep at night.

Assuming you have checked out other possibilities…like no caffeine late in the day or evening…or an illness that is causing great pain that is preventing sleep. That is a different story. We can talk about that special circumstance if you would like…

But for now, let’s stick with this scenario…

I want you to have your best life possible and I know that sleep is one way to help you to have the best outlook on your life, no matter what challenges you face. I want you to know my secret so you can get some relief…so you can feel your best…so you can do your best…so your work, family, church, neighborhood relationships have the best possible chance of being great (not just good). So all of your life just “works” better! A life coach likes to help people figure out ways to be their best self (by God’s design).

With all that said, here’s the secret

After you have made the room dark and cool and as quiet…

Fluff your pillow.

Lie down on your bed.

Close your eyes.

And

Smile.

Then…

Keep smiling.

That is really what I said.

Smile.

Keep smiling.

And think of how much Jesus loves you.

And imagine Him reaching His arms toward you in love.

And before you know it, it is morning.

Don’t laugh. Well, laugh if you want…because it IS funny…but is also works. It works for me and it will work for you if you give it an honest try.

God says in the Bible that a joyful heart doeth good like medicine. So…smiling will affect the way you look at your life and it will tell your heart that you are joyful and before you know it, you are looking at life differently. And your life “feels” better, even if nothing has changed…(except that you are smiling more).  🙂

Bottom line: I want you to be able to get a better night’s sleep. Like me.

Let me know if I can help. Here is some of what I do..

Pam Taylor. Christian Life Coach. Entrepreneur. Blogger. Coach. Strengths Coach. Improving your options for a more efficient and satisfying life.

Lord of the Loaves and Fishes

The Lord of the Loaves and Fishes meets the needs of His children. “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 in the New Testament of the Bible)

What’s your life look like right now? Are you facing one problem after another? Feeling unfulfilled in your life’s work? In your family life? In your church life? Inside your own skin? Does it seem like something is missing?

Maybe something is missing. Maybe you are looking in the wrong places.

Are new needs arising? Are you even thinking “And now there is Christmas with additional financial needs and relationship needs”? Do you feel pulled in all directions and do you feel like you simply cannot make ends meet?

What if it is true that you simply can’t make ends meet on your own? And…what if there is a better plan?

What if you decide to talk it over with the Lord of the Loaves and Fishes? What if you truly and honestly seek HIS plan for your life? What if you ask HIM for help?

When we daily/moment-by-moment consciously and deliberately look to God for help (“Give us this day your daily bread.” Matthew 6:11), we are acknowledging our own inability to meet our own needs. We are looking to Him as the Lord of the Loaves and Fishes.

It blesses Him to know that we realize that He is the Source for all that we need. And He loves blessing His kids. (Of course, sometimes HIS idea of blessing is not what we were thinking would be a blessing, but it’s also true that: Father knows best!)

There are true stories in the Bible that teach us about God multiplying what is offered up to Him. (I believe that so strongly, that it’s actually the very foundational principle that my whole coaching business is based on.  www.loavesandfishescoaching.com  You will notice that theme in many of my blog posts as well. And my clients experience that theme in my coaching and mentor/coaching those individuals that God sends my way.)

The very first step that Jesus took when he fed the hungry multitudes in the middle of nowhere, was to acknowledge that God Almighty is the One True God. He worshipped God the Father. He knew the Source of the provision of the needs of the people that were hungry. And, in response, God provided more than enough for all. (One of those stories is recorded in Matthew 14 in the New Testament of the Bible. See my website homepage for a verse from that chapter) www.loavesandfishescoaching.com

Over and over again in my own life, I have seen God multiply the meager offering I have to give. Whether it be time, money, or possessions. Jesus is the Lord of the Loaves and Fishes, and He’s with you in the boat on the rough sea of life. He’s promised to supply all our needs. Yes…He’s PROMISED to supply them.

But (and this is a very important “but”) we need to ASK. To ask, to seek, to knock. We have to acknowledge the Source. He will do it even when we don’t see how it is possible. In fact, the Lord of the Loaves and Fishes…the Lord of the stormy seas…He is the Lord that loves the word IMPOSSIBLE!

I’d love to hear your stories of how God has met you at your point of need. What Loaves and Fishes has He supplied just when you needed them? Share your story. We want to hear from you!

My Will or God’s Will?

My will or God’s will? Is it possible to know what God wants me to do?

Here’s some questions to ask yourself when trying to evaluate whether your decision is “my will or God’s will“…

  • Have I clearly and specifically asked for God’s help?
  • Do I show my trust for God with every area of my life, not merely this decision?
  • Do I even want to obey God’s clearly revealed will?
  • Am I operating on the basis of good reasons…or on the basis of changing feelings?
  • Am I choosing to take the time to fill my mind with God’s Word so that my mind is being transformed so that I can recognize His will when it is revealed?
  • Are there biblical commands or principles that apply to my specific situation? Am I choosing to take the time to look for them?
  • What are the alternatives and consequences of each possible option?
  • Are my abilities or weaknesses influencing the decision? How?
  • What decision will glorify God?
  • What will build me up spiritually?
  • What will edify others?
  • Have I sought out trustworthy advisors that know the Bible?
  • Have I been like the Bereans and compared the advice that was given…to what the Bible says…rather than merely accepting or rejecting it?
  • Am I making this decision based on how it will affect my own personal freedom?
  • Do I have an internal sense of spiritual peace that my decision is right?
  • What would be the affect if I waited to make this decision?
  • After determining whether it is my will or God’s will, am I determined to obey and please God…no matter what?

The Power of Accountability

The Power of Accountabiliy was written by Tony Stoltzfus

I’m sharing a link to an article published in the online Christian Coaching Center Magazine this month.

The coaching relationship is a powerfully helpful relationship as you move toward greater purpose. A Christian coach can help by holding you accountable to achieving your personal integrity goals, as well. The unique relationship can be an encouraging tool toward personal growth.

I wanted to share Tony’s post with you, in hopes of blessing you with a different “voice” than my own for a change of pace. You can read it here:

The Power of Accountability and the Christian Coaches role.

Invest in Your Future ?

Invest in your future? What does that mean in today’s economy? Jason Bohn was a college student when he made a hole-in-one golf shot that won him a million dollars. He had a plan. Rather than squandering the money, he used it to improve his golf skills–a type of  “living-and-training fund”–an investment in his future, paying off with a win on the PGA Tour’s 2005 B.C. Open. (And proving “Bohn’s decision to invest in the future instead of living for the moment was a wise one indeed.”)

Likely, we won’t make a million-dollar hole-in-one, like Bohn. So how does this translate into a non-golf pro’s lifestyle and investment in our future?

“In a sense, that is what Jesus calls us to do.” (Invest in our future. But..how do we do that?)  We have been entrusted with resources–time, ability, opportunity–and we decide how/where/when to use them. Our challenge is to see those resources as an opportunity to invest long-term. ‘Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.’  (Matthew 6:20,21).

Think of your resources: your talents, time, knowledge.  “These are temporal and limited. But if you invest them with an eye toward eternity, these temporary things can have enduring impact.” What about your personality strengths and spiritual gifts? All these things are gifts to us from Creator God, with the intention of our investing them for eternity’s sake.

So…where is your heart? Earthbound or Heavenbound? And what is your focus? Now or forever?

You’re alive and reading this today, which is proof that you still have time and opportunity to invest in your future. “It will not only have an eternal impact, but it will also change the way you view life each day.”

I’d like to hear from you about how you’re investing in your Future.

Onward! 🙂

Why Do We Need Revivals? Why Do We Need Life Coaches?

Why do we need revivals? “Revivals are a new surge of spiritual life. The return of something to its true purpose,” says David Jeremiah.

Why do we need revivals? Revivals are not for God. They are for His creation. He knows we are incomplete unless we are complete in Him. So, he allows us to feel empty so He can fill us up.

Many times, our decisions are made in the heat of our emotions being stirred up. Maybe it is a television commercial or an end-aisle store display that causes us to see something and we believe that we just have to have it! The crash of the Target store website over their new product line is proof of that. The resultant anger of the people that were unable to purchase what they saw was a sad commentary on what we have become. Wouldn’t a revival transform our thinking about what we consider to be a life-or-death matter?

Why do we need revivals? How many times have we been to a church service or a seminar and made a commitment in the midst of an emotional setting? How many times do we have to “go forward” in an emotional response before we “really” mean it? Maybe we make plans to be more organized with our time or nicer to our family or we promise to “have devotions” every day as opposed to hit-and-miss, willy-nilly.

How many times do we promise ourselves that we will eat healthy after we see a program on the dangers of making a habit of eating from the fast food lane? How many things do we start with good intentions, only to get shipwrecked along the way and then just plain quit?

Many of our commitments are made in emotional settings for emotional reasons. Then, when the emotion passes, the commitment wanes. David Jeremiah says that he used to “have a revival every summer at camp”. J Can you relate to that? Maybe it wasn’t summer camp for you. Maybe it was a ladies’ retreat, or a men’s Promise Keepers event or something similar.

What can we do to prevent our commitments from only lasting as long as the Israelites while Moses was on the mountain getting the 10 commandments from God? Do we see God move in our lives and then go back to our usual pattern of life? Maybe—like the Israelites—in about 40 days?

Our lives are hectic and busy and it’s hard to focus. It is easy to lose sight of what is truly important. It is easy to let the temporal overshadow the eternal and forget why we are here on this planet at this time in history. What does Creator God have in mind for us to be and to do?

Why do we need life coaches? Christian life coaches are especially trained to help you keep that vision…that desire to live your best life…to live in your God-given strengths, rather than in defeat and frustration at not having kept your commitments when you felt revival stir in you. We help you hold that conviction when it begins to wane. We come alongside you as a type of cheerleader…like Barnabas in the New Testament. Encouraging and cheering you on to be your God-given best self. To be all He intended you to be. A coaching relationship helps you maintain your commitment goals.

Let’s talk about how that can be a reality in YOUR life! J
